Summer Movie Night

We changed things up a bit this year and had the friends Summer party be an outdoor movie night. This was the easiest party! We watched Dolphin Tale, had treats, and the kids all had a fun time either watching the movie or playing in the sandbox. Luc and Jack had a fun time catching up with their friends.  Ruby was a bit disappointed because she was only able to invite 2 friends, but I did not think parents would be too comfortable sending their three year olds to a party that was going from 8:30-11pm.  When all was said and done she was happy that Sophia and Issac were able to come and she had a lot of fun hanging out with Lucie's friends too!  The hardest part about the party was washing all of the quilts the next day!  Thanks to my mom for letting me use her washer too it went a bit quicker.

The Boys

The boys were busy measuring Brig while waiting patiently for their turn to go on the slide. Jack was determining how close Brig is to being able to ride by himself. Jack kept saying, "so close, you're just so close Brig!"

Lovin Some Ice Cream

The Summer days are flying by. Maybe I will catch back up on journaling when we return to a routine but for now we are enjoying flying by the seat of our pants. Our days seem to fill up. Some days it is more randomness and other days I kind of plan. I really like looking at the calendar and not having set things planned. It is really nice to have a change of pace and just to be able to wake up and decide that day what we want to do.
I love these pics of Ruby eating her ice cream. They show a few of her many facial expressions. She's a character!!
On this particular day we were in the middle of Schoonie Summer Camp. We decided to have ice cream first and lunch second! It was perfect because our friends actually ate their lunch and were not consumed with getting ice cream the whole time we were eating. More about Schoonie Camp later...

The Pool

This morning we went swimming!  It is so nice to be able to go in the morning.  The kids had a good time playing in the pools today.  They did the slides just a couple of times.
I had to get a shot of Jack and Brig checkin out the map on the way out.  They do this every time.  It is hilarious how they study the map.  I think Jack is a bit annoyed that they have not added the avalanche slide to the map that was new last year.  He is all about the details!!
Queuing...although it was not as busy today.
My little fish!

Enjoying Summer

We have been enjoying Summer things this week!
We have been to Seven Peaks twice so far this week. We have been with Ovards both times. Noelle and I have hung out with Ruby and Sophia at the kiddie pools while trying to keep tabs on the boys and Lucie.  The boys and Lucie have been feeling very independent (a little to much at times) and have been tackling some of the slides by themselves.  They boys even carried the double tube up to the slides by themselves.  It makes me want to say WHAT THE WHAT?!?  I cannot believe they are this big.
Today Nick was with us too.  The kids had a blast with getting a triple tube and going down together.  We all took turns doing the Avalanche Racer slides.  Jack was ecstatic because he measured big enough to go by himself!!  Noelle and were talking that we are getting to be chickens in our old age (lol)!  I had to wait in a big old long line to go on the Avalanche Racers with Jack and Brig and while waiting my stomach was getting butterflies.  I much prefer when I can just walk right up to the slide and get on.
Nick and Noelle bribed Lucie with and ice cream cone if she would go on Shotgun Falls with Nick.  She has been on the slide before, but was feeling a bit nervous about it today.  She took the ice cream and went on the slide and had a lot of fun!  Now Nick is trying to get her to go on the big free fall slides with him.  We will see how that plays out next time.
Other then Seven Peaks we have been watching tv, taking Lucie and Ruby to skating lessons, stick time for Jack, piano lessons for Lucie, and I have been trying to catch up with pictures.  The way that I was uploading pictures stopped working.  It is frustrating when something works and works and then just stops.  I will have to try and get back in the habit of doing it the old way.
I am really enjoying Summer.  Now that we are finally getting into a good groove school will sneak up on us again.  I will try and not think about that for a few more weeks!

Teamwork

Jack is into building with Legos. It is very therapeutic for him.  He has a talent to visualize something and then to build it. He will spend lots of time building and re-building cars, buildings, boats. This week Lucie has been interested in helping Jack. I think she has gained an appreciation for how he builds things and that it is not always easy. Jack has been very patient with helping Lucie and Lucie has been appreciative of his help. Yesterday Lucie built a float and Jack built the car that could tow the float that they said was going to be in a parade. Lucie put a Lego girl on the float and said it was Miss Springville!

This is the way Mollee sleeps...

Mollee is spoiling us with her incredible sleeping habits. I hope I don't jinx myself by writing about it.  For the first little while we had Mollee sleeping in a cradle, but she was always kind of restless.  One night Trent suggested putting her in her chair.  She is a little snuggle bug and loves to be swaddled.  So we put her in her chair and she slept through the night.  There have been maybe three or four nights where she has woken up in the middle of the night since, but overall she has been the best little sleeper.  She is a routine girl...bath, feed, sleep through night.  It is lovely!

Potty Mouths

Lately my friends have been too quick to use words like stupid, hate, crap.  I know they are not terrible words and they probably hear them from me, but I was getting tired of them using them especially when they are mad at each other.
On Sunday I was talking to them about a consequence for every time they used one of the words and came up with cleaning the toilet.  They thought that sounded disgusting so I was excited that I found the perfect consequence.  Trent thought it was great too and said we would have the cleanest toilets this week!
Jack put me to the test and used the potty words right off.  He had the privilege of cleaning both of our toilets on Monday morning!  He did not want me to take his picture hence the reason he is hiding in the bathtub, but I snuck a picture when he was in action.  He really did a great job AND the best part is there have been no more potty words from any of my friends.  I am sure that will change, but if so they can clean a toilet too:)

He was kind of disgusted that he had to put his hand in the toilet bowl.  He finally ended up wearing my rubber gloves.

Gpa Schoonie Pictures

Grandpa Schoonie took these pictures while he and grandma were visiting in the middle of June.

Grandpa and Grandma both went to Lucie's practice session to see her skate.
I don't know if this is going to show up to well...Grandpa captured Lucie with her tongue sticking out.  It's Lucie's trademark that she sticks her tongue out when she is going into a jump or concentrating on something while on the ice.  She is working on keeping a straight face or smile!
Practicing her "shoot the duck" in order to get her sit spin.
Going into a jump.
Grandpa went outside and found Jack trying to share his corn dog with Brig.  Not quite sure if they could both get a bite at the same time.
