Hockey & Kindness

Jack is completely into hockey right now and is learning how to skate so that he can play hockey himself. On Friday night we went to a BYU hockey game and all 3 of our friends loved it! We were not planning on staying for all 3 periods, especially at the end of the 2nd period when I dropped Trent's iPhone through the bleachers and it fell 15-20ft. Trent was EXTREMELY patient and did not say one unkind word (I would have been saying not so nice things), but he is AMAZING that way. Anyways, HUGE blessing. His iPhone was perfectly fine. I think we received that blessing because we needed to stay for the 3 period of the game.
So, Trent was ready to go but our little friends begged us to stay and we are so glad we did. We have a ward member (Josh Burkart) who plays on the BYU hockey team. He has been so nice to Jack and to all of us...helping us with skating and hockey advice. At the end of the game he waved for Trent and Jack to come down to the glass. He tossed the game puck over to Jack. Jack as ELATED! It seriously made Jack's night, day, life...I think and hope it will be a moment he will always remember. That hockey puck has become a treasure to him. He slept with that night and been taking very good care of it. We were able to get Jack's picture with Josh. On the way home we talked about how nice that was of Josh to think of Jack! It was a really cool experience and we are so appreciative of the example and kindness of Josh!
