An Attempt to Make Carmel Apples

Noelle's boss gave her a very good carmel apple last week that she had made...wanting to share the treat with others Noelle and I decided that we wanted to try and make them as well. The process was fun...Lucie, Jack and Brig were all good at unwrapping the carmels and did really good at dipping the apples. We were so impressed with ourselves until we tried to get an apple off of the greased wax paper and it would not come. Go figure...we followed instructions?? To say the least we enjoyed them, but they were a first attempt. Maybe next time we will actually be able to share them with others!

We have discovered what may have been our problem...a little too much carmel run off and we did not dry our apples before dipping them. Live and learn!!

they look delicious!! a fun thing to do for the kids is just to slice the apples and drizzle carmel over the them and I have found that if you add little water to the melted carmel it helps with the consistency and it makes the carmel shiny! enjoy!
love you all-
