at the end of August!
Jack's birthday landed on a Sunday this year and it turned out that we celebrated the whole weekend. Jack started his birthday weekend by celebrating at school. His class sang Happy Birthday to him. Jack took Twinkies and grapes for snack time.

Grandma Schoonmaker was in town on Friday so we had a Schoonie Family get together and a combined birthday party for Jack and his cousin Kate.

Jack wanted a Costco birthday cake with a football. When we were having two parties I asked Jack if he would be ok with sharing his cake with Kate and having a smaller football. He was so kind and willing to share and so we just had 1 cake for the weekend. Two Costco cakes would have been a little much in a 2 day period.
On Saturday he invited Grandpa and Grandma Taylor, Ovards, and 2 friends to go bowling and to Training Table. The line..."it's my party and i'll cry if i want to" definitely applied. Overall Jack and his friends had a great time, but we had moments of tears!

You can see Jack's red face! He was so excited to invite friends to his party and looked forward to it all week.
On Sunday we opened his family gifts in the morning. In the evening we had dinner with family and Jack choose red spaghetti for dinner.
