All week at our house there has been excitement for an egg drop at Lucie's school. The note came home on Monday that said you should help your child problem solve and design something to hold a raw egg that would be thrown from the school roof. We discussed with Lucie what she thought would hold the egg and then Trent was able to get some misc leftovers from the shipping/receiving department at work. Trent was REALLY excited to help and wanted to make a parachute, but in the end we could not get it to work.
On Thursday morning, the day of the egg drop we had a very grumpy 4 year old making growly noises from her room because it was raining very hard and she would not get to ride bikes at school and the egg drop would not be held...thank goodness by the time it was school time it was a beautiful 50 degrees outside and we had a happy 4 year old!!

Lucie with some of her friends. They had just finished an Easter egg hunt when the parents were arriving for the egg drop.

They had to mark whether they thought each egg would break or not break before it was dropped.

A very happy little girl:) Her egg survived the drop! And dad was very happy too that they had made a safe enough box for it!

I totally remember doing this when I was in elementary. It was a fun activity and I'm glad that her egg was safe.
